A schedule, ensures that the project’s objectives of cost, time, and, quality are met. Scheduling is done by estimating the number of tasks required after agreeing to the scope, timing each of these tasks, and working out the overall duration of the process.
Course overview
This course focuses on how to create a project plan and schedule in 7 steps: defining project scope, creating work breakdown structure (WBS), driving the plan down to task level (work package), deciding precedence relationships, analyzing the network of tasks, estimating resource requirement and using earned value management to monitor project progress.
Business Lab
This course includes exercises, simulations, and case study that will allow you to apply the ideas from this course and develop the required skills in the following areas:
- Construct a WBS, network diagrams and estimate tasks duration
- Analyze critical paths and reviewing project plans
- Allocate costs to project plans
- Perform earned value analysis
- Respond to schedules and cost changes
